We had high hopes when Paul and the crew started our concrete work. After reaching out to 8 different concrete companies, Blackwood Construction was the only one that actually followed through with an estimate, which we were happy with. Jessica, who handled the business end of things, communicated quickly through e-mail, and Paul was pleasant to talk with.

The quality of work was lacking. Although we would have expected some clean-up for us to do, we did not expect to have ruts in our yard, scratches on the driveway and blobs of concrete in our yard. The contract says he would pour concrete with fiber in it, but there is no fiber. Expansion joints were not finished and we had to hire another company to fix this issue. The concrete was brushed when it was too wet, which caused it to be too rough. The stamped dye is not only fading, but is almost as white as the concrete in some areas. It has been less than 2 months since the work was completed. Some of the powder that he added in for the color on the stamped area got on our siding, which is now stained. There are blobs of concrete in the middle of the patio. The patio is poured directly up to the house and Paul did not put the spacer between the block and the new patio. The work is very sloppy.
