There is virtually no right of way beyond the driving surface of the road in front of my business. For years with other contractors having the borough snow plow contract it was a constant fight to avoid having snow piled into my parking lot as far as twenty feet sometimes. This would quite literally push snow onto my customer's vehicles that were waiting for service.

Last year, after being unable to resolve the problem through the borough, I had the opportunity to speak directly to the owner of Big Dipper. He immediately cleared several tons of snow off of my property that had been deposited there during the heavy snowfalls and subsequent snowplowing operations. As he was doing so he was on the cell phone to his drivers and for the rest of that year and this winter especially, they have done a wonderful job of clearing the road without pushing any of the snow at all into my parking lot.

My property also includes a problematic corner where summer road maintenance operations in the past had consistently cut the corner and graded into my property. All it took was a friendly conversation too.Explain the situation to the greater operators working for big dipper and the years old problem was solved.

My personal experience with this company has been nothing but positive.

I’ve almost been hit by your plow drivers twice now while I am snowblowing inside my driveway. I have bright lights on my snowblower and my driveway lights are on so I’m very easy to see. We have lots of kids that play in our neighborhood and they are driving well above the posted speed limit. I appreciate the plowing but they need to pay attention and slow down in neighborhoods they are giving your company a bad look. I was unable to get ahold of anyone by phone and you don’t have a website or email listed.

This company is the contractor hired by the Mat-Su Borough to do road maintenance and snow removal in our area. They are absolutely fantastic! Snow plowing is extremely quick and very well done. We have lived in Alaska for 50+ years. This company, hands down, does the best we have ever had. Thank you.

Huge shout out to this amazing company. Had an issue called them up. Tyler and Tucker took care of me right away and made about 32 people very happy. this is the quickest I’ve ever had an issue resolved.

Id give this place a lower score if I could. Drivers are mean and dispatchers are even meaner. Asked for something that’d take maybe 2 minutes out of someone’s day. Told it was my problem to deal with.

Would not recommend. While I haven't hired them to do any work, there would be no way I would hire them after their public displays of lack of professionalism and complete disregard for safety of themselves and those around them. Witnessed one of their crews in a company truck on the Glenn Highway doing at least 90, weaving between lanes, not using turn signals, and tailgating..... Based on this behavior, there is absolutely no way I would ever allow them onto one of my job sites.

A Big Dipper employee made a big difference to my middle school son. He was out shoveling the berm at the end of the driveway after the plow came through and looked up to see the plow driver motioning him to back up. The guy took a minute to clean up the driveway and my son thanked him and came inside. It made a huge impression on him how kind that was and he talked about it all evening. Thanks so much for the little things like this!
