I highly recommend Bear Renovations! They did an amazing job on our project as well as kept us informed along the way. We had a substantial roofing project - the crew showed up when scheduled, worked professionally paying close attention to detail and completely cleaned up behind themselves! It’s so refreshing to receive great workmanship along with friendly, prompt customer service! Definitely 5 star work!

Had a new roof and gutters put on in 2018. The roof has a warranty and is currently leaking. I have been trying to get someone out to take a look for several weeks. My contractor wants to repair the ceiling and has scaffolding in my living room waiting for Bear to take a look. I have called them above ten times trying to talk to someone about this matter. Totally unresponsive. With the Holidays rapidly approaching I need to resolve this issue. They were also very slow to respond when my gutter fell off that first winter damaging my deck rails. Be very cautious when dealing with them!

Mike expressed to us how their work is superior to other installers. Much to my surprise when I returned home from work to find that the roof was not done in one day as he had stated because I told him several time I needed to make arrangements for someone to care for our dog because she is afraid of loud noises. Secondly my neighbors and I were not impressed with the smell of burning tar paper that Bear roofing was burning in my back yard fire pit, especially since he charged me $488 for a dumpster. There were shingle pieces and nail left thru our gutter system that I had to clean out. Then when it rained the first time after the installation I noticed the water was not going into the gutter on one end the house. Upon further inspection I could see the shingles had been installed past the edge of the gutters. Called Bear roofing several times before finally getting a hold of Mike to express my concern. He told me he would stop out and take a look. Never showed up in three months, called him again and he said he was busy with trees. I told him I would fix it myself at least it would be a quality repair. Mike told us that the shingle manufacturing would be mailing us the warranty documentation. After four months called Bear to inform them that we had not received anything and the girl who answered said they would call me back. never received a call back. Two weeks later called Bear again and she said hadn't had time to call. I called the manufacturer myself and they said they had no record of shingles being installed at our address. Called Bear again and told them this and she said she was sure it got filed. Apparently she actually did file it this time because received the information in 2 weeks after my phone call to her.

For all the 4 and 5-star reviews, I suspect this is because it hasn't been long enough for a problem to arise that requires Bear to back up their warranty. I, too, was initially impressed with their professionalism. But they have been *atrocious* in returning to fix leaks ever since. (And, yes -- that is leakS: plural) Yes, April the receptionist is polite and nice, but after it was necessary to call her literally more than a dozen times, I began to wonder whether her cheerful demeanor was merely a cover. She kept apologizing and insisting that she was passing my messages on to Ben; yet, I never got a call. Finally, after a full summer season of repeated calling from me, she said last fall ('22) that Mike Bear had died and so things were in disarray -- but she also insisted that business was carrying on. I, of course, immediately backed off out of respect for the loss. But, after another couple of weeks, I gently and politely began to call again to see if they could do anything. After 2-3 more calls, I just gave up. Do NOT call them. Read and take heed of all the poor reviews here... they all say the same thing. Because it's true!!

From the start Bear exceeded my expectations. Within a day of requesting an estimate for replacing my roof, a professional and complete estimate was hand delivered to me. Even though they were booked solid, as soon as an opening presented itself, I was immediately contacted, & my roof was replaced within a couple of days. The crew was extremely fast, courteous, and conscientious. Everything was cleaned up when the job was completed. April, the office receptionist, is extremely polite and helpful. I look forward to having Bear do more work on our home. Thank you!!!

Mike was very disorganized and consistently overpromised and under delivered. We had a roof replacement which didn't start on time. Once the roof was finally installed, there it was noted that the ridge vent hadn't been installed. They couldn't install one because home was modular but didn't advise us. We were given a credit for it toward the heated gutters with leaf guards which never materialized...over a year and still waiting even after calls. Along with waiting for forms for shingle recall. Friendly guy but can't recommend his services.

Mike was the only contractor that said he could start right away to repair and replace storm damaged roof structure. Others said wait was 1-2 years, even though water was running inside the building after a tree collapsed and went through the roof.
He did the work promptly and helped me to get a settlement from the insurance company. Any issues that came up were easy to remedy, Mike was very responsive.

Bear Renovations just finished installing a metal shingle roof on our home and garage. Mike gave us an estimate with a start date and completion date. He started the job on time, and finished before the completion date. His crew were very efficient, courteous, and thoroughly cleaned up each day. The whole job took only 4 1/2 days for 35 square, including the tear off of old shingles. I felt that his quote was fair and a good value. The shingles I picked out had a 50 year guarantee. I would recommend him highly.
