What an absolute nightmare. The folks here are nothing short of rude, dismissive, and utterly unhelpful.

The process of getting a work permit in this county is so agonizingly slow it’s a wonder anything ever gets done at all.

It’s a harsh contrast to the city of Centennial—where everyone is friendly, helpful, and efficient. Unfortunately, living in unincorporated Centennial means we’re stuck dealing with this circus of incompetence and endless runarounds just to complete a simple project at our own home.

If I can have a negative star, I will definitely give the building department here. I have dealt with many building departments around the town. This one is the worst. They will not help you with things. They don't take calls. They will push things around.

While some of the inspectors are really good to work with….. This is Absolutely the worst building department I have ever had to deal with. Rude, slow, belittling and did I say RUDE?!? I hate the fact that I have to pull permits for my work through this county. Your rating says it all. I wish the citizens had the power to hire and fire because most of that department would be out of a job.

If I could give this county a negative review mark I would. A city building division manager Joe Richards and his staff are ZERO help. Instead of trying to make their mistakes right, they push it on the customer as their fault. The clerk staff is also a disgrace, not helpful, rude and acts as if they have better things to do instead of their job. I know this won't solve anything or give any resolution I just wanted anyone else that has to work with the county and division to be aware and document EVERYTHING or they will take NO responsibility for their own actions. They also will not try and work with you to make things right, they say "theres nothing I can do" and push you off. BE AWARE!

Valerie in the building department is one of the rudest humans I have ever had to deal with. I asked for. Supervisor and she said she is one. Additionally, Arapahoe County is way behind the times and cannot take payments over the phone so therefore I have to call in and deal with her. I have been in customer service for years and recognize people have bad days. But Valerie is terrible every time I call. She needs some training in customer service. Or maybe get a different job that doesn’t involve working with the public. Just awful.

As a roofing and general contractor in Colorado I can say that I have never met a Building Inspector or Administrator who is more invested in the protection and service of his constituents than Building Division Manager Joe Richards.

Mr. Richards has went out of his way to investigate situations arising from last years hail-related property damage; and has ensured that the citizens under his jurisdiction aren't bullied by Insurance companies looking to do the bare-minimum for their insureds.

Mr. Richards is always pleasant to deal with and generous with his time. He is an asset to his department.

Prima donnas that care nothing about taxpayers in their county.

Rude, disrespectful, unprofessional front office. Expect you to know how they operate and adhere to their strict guidelines. Sorry for annoying you with my simple request for an inspector time frame today.

I said thank you but you hung up before you could hear it.

Get a grip and realize that you are here to serve us, not the other way around.

Obviously fabricated 5-star ratings. The building inspectors can be good people but it’s hit or miss. They are likely at the whim of a rotten department head.

The absolute most unhelpful and unfriendly building department in Colorado starting at the front desk and it works its way through the entire building department. They don't care at all and it shows.

Not to mention the inspectors Patrick the mechanical inspector doesn't care one bit about the tax payers. He just likes to flex his muscles which is what most inspectors who are failed business owners do.
