2/19/25. I waited several weeks for my appointment today with Dr. Andrew Francella. The appointment was for 3:20 PM. The office manager left me a voicemail, then called my husband at his job. They wanted me to come in earlier if possible. It took me 15 mins to get through all the prompts and nonsense to leave a message. The office finally called me back and asked me if I could come in 12:30pm. Then they called again and said it would be 1:00pm. Then, like a phone prank, they said not to leave the house until further notice! The office manager calls again to tell me that Dr. Francella will do a virtual call at 2:20pm. Never came! Unbelievably, Dr. Francella left a voice message at 3:41pm saying that a zoom meeting was not set up by his staff. What?
Why is it that patients have to pay a monetary fee for a โ€œno showโ€ yet a Doctors office can string you along for an entire day with NO results. I am sort of glad this happens in a way because I will have my issues properly taken care of by another gastroenterologist. Patientโ€™s time matters too. Come on now.

Dr. Francella has been very helpful to me with my recent Crohn's flare-up. While it's difficult to get messages through the Westmed system, when he did get my messages, he called me back (even on the weekend).

Trying to get a colonoscopy appointment was a nightmare. Once gotten I received absolutely no information and the appointment is in a few days. I have repeated contacted the MD but nothing about prep or insurance or prescriptions or care. God forbid the MD picks up the phone and talks to the patient.

Not so much a direct review on Dr Francella, but on WestMed in general. This happens EVERY time we call. A doctor's office asking to speak to another doctor's office and we can't get through! I just spent 25 mins trying to reach Dr Francella's office and was transferred to 7! different call centers. One of them even had the gall to say we could not be connected. The last person was at least helpful and tried 3 different back lines to connect me to the office and she could not get through. Said she would leave a message for them to call us back, which never happens either. The recording states they are recording the calls to improve their service. They ought to listen to those recordings and hear the frustration of call centers reading from a script, talking over the caller, and not accomplishing the task. A doctor's office trying to contact another doctor's office should not be put through this. It's patients lives we're talking about. WestMed, if you really care, do something about this atrocity.

Dr. Francella is a very patient doctor who understands his patients. He will talk to you in length with what your problem is . when necessary, he will perform procedures to rule out anything negative. which I personally appreciate. He is always there when you need him. I will recommend him highly to anyone who needs a gastroenterologist.

From my office visit to my recent preventative procedure, Dr. Francella, his staff and his facilities were top notch. I do not understand the negative reviews here. He is personable and took great time to explain everything during my diagnostic visit, pre-procedure and post-procedure. I highly recommend him.

I would not go back to see this physician if he were the last doctor on the face of the earth. I give him no stars.....none. And for him to advertise that he specializes in irritable bowel syndrome is a travesty. And to publish that he went to Mount Sinai for his training makes it even more of an unthinkable and irresponsible claim since Mount Sinai specializes in bowel diseases. After my colonoscopy he had no advise or concerns that would help deal with such a debilitating disease, other than to pass me off to another physician who also had no advise or expressed any concern for followup or treatment. I was left to deal with my IBS on my own. Thanks Dr. Francella, and my first name is Merle if you care to look up my records.
