Jorge was great.
I had several A/C companies come out and try to fix our air conditioning system, none of them could fix it and they all recommended very costly replacement of the enter system.
Jorge immediately determined the issue was lack of airflow and came up with a plan to solve the problem. Since the system wasn’t that old we were thrilled to fix instead of replace.
His crew was very thorough and Jorge communicated with my wife and I. They pointed out several errors from the previous installers and service providers. They fixed those issues immediately.
The AC system is working the best it has in 12 years!

Jorge did a wonderful job of explaining the features and the benefits and the pros and cons of the different AC options on the market. In my case, the variable speed heat pump was the way to go, relocating it into a space above my master bathroom. The guys were able to do it in two days, They were friendly, considerate, explaining the system, and the new Nest thermostat. I would say their price was slightly above the other quotes, but I was more confident in them than the other bidder.

I don't write reviews--but in this case, I feel I need to make an exception. Working with Jorge at Amercian Design and Construction was an absolute pleasure. We decided to get financing with the GoGreen Financing program--to do a new roof and new heat pump water heater. We interviewed 4 contractors--2 of which never followed through (of course)--and of the other 2, American Design's estimate was actually more expensive. We decided to go with them however because they were so attentive and thorough. My wife and I also just had a good feeling about Jorge.

He walked us through everything, made us aware of some other products--including a radiant barrier that we put in the attic! I never felt he was trying to "upsell" us, in fact the radiant barrier has turned out to be very helpful to block the heat (funny enough, he accidentally bought a higher quality radiant barrier and ended up giving us the better quality project and ate the cost himself).

He endeared himself to me over and over by communicating with us constantly. I've never had a contractor care so much about the quality of the work. He even did a few smaller custom jobs under the same work order, and those custom jobs seemed just as important to him as the big ticket roof! Even when I hemmed and hawed and changed my mind, he was patient with me and kept trying new configurations until we were satisfied. In other words, he's very creative about how he gets it done. And he does get it done!

In summary, they weren't the lowest bid or the highest bid, but Jorge delivered. He consistently communicated with us and put us at ease and did really good work to boot. He cares about his work and his customer. He's easy to talk to and we've already referred him to friends of ours who are using him as I write this.

If you'd had bad experiences with contractors before (and we all have) I highly recommend Jorge at American Design and Construction. And if you go through the Go Green Loans, as we did, you will get a better interest rate for "green" projects in the house up to 50K and he will take care of all that financing paperwork as well.

We'll be using him again.

Jorge and his crew were wonderful. Jorge was patient and clearly explained to me the entire process from the work itself to the financing that was offered which was the GoGreen financing. This project initially started off as just a replacement of the roof, but after he explained what GoGreen financing covered, I decided to add painting of the house as well.

When he came over for the initial estimate, he walked with me around the property explaining what needed to be replaced but also indicated which pieces could remain so that it won’t be replaced unnecessarily. I feel other contractors would say replace everything just to inflate the cost. When it came time to paint the house, he personally came over to provide color swatches of the color that I wanted.

What I really appreciated the most was his communication with the job and the timeline for completion. I received daily communications from him on what his crew would be working on that day or the next day. One of the days of roof work, there was going to be a small chance of rain the next day. Him being concerned with it, he let me know that night that he’ll send a couple of people over to cover up the bare roof so that it won’t be exposed to the elements the next morning. Now THAT is caring service.

In addition, his crew is just as amazing. After taking off the shingles from the old roof, they made sure to clean up everything on the ground. It really looked like they had not placed the old stuff there in the first place. After the paint work, they meticulously scrubbed the small bits of paint on the floor and cleaned up everything.

Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with his professionalism and quality of work. The whole job was completed in a very reasonable time for the amount of work needed. I’ll definitely be reaching out to him again for my next house work.
