I called to ask why my bill was higher than expected, the lady gave me a brief answer. When her answer didn't explain everything, I continued to ask more questions. I could hear that she was getting frustrated the longer our conversation went on. At the end, when we finally understood each other, I thought I would hear a sense of relieve or maybe a little less frustration from her, but instead her attitude was worse than the beginning. I found her to be rude.

We lost our son to a drunk driver in January. My wife who normally takes care of the household bills is suffering from ptsd and her memory and concentration is very foggy. She DID forget to pay Alliant Energy for 2 months. We owed them $530 when they shut off our power. Less than an hour after turning off our power at 7:30 am I discovered what happened and immediately payed our bill in full. They refused to turn it back on until the following day with no scheduled time. Meanwhile we have no A/C, refrigerator, lights or electricity to power my CPAP machine I need to sleep with because I have a severe case of sleep apnea. I'm a truck driver and work nights so I won't get any sleep until they decide to turn our power back on. I understand we were in the wrong here, but come on guys. We've NEVER been late on paying in 30+ years. I sure wish we had an alternative for this service. These guys are unbelievable.

Money hungry jerks that don't take proper notes when they say they have. Quick to shut you off when you get a little behind! If I could give a negative 100 stars I would!
