Did you ever realize part way through a major commitment that you made the wrong choice? That’s exactly what happened when we visited our first Allan model during the Parade of Homes. We fell in love. We had already commited to another builder, but we couldn’t stop thinking about the amazing finished lower level in that Charleston Parade model, and the sincerity of the sales person we met there. After bumping into her again at another Parade home, we decided it must be for a reason. We set up an appointment and told her about our prior commitment and our fears that we were building the wrong home. She explained our options and immediately went to bat for us. At this time, we had zero commitment to Allan. Without earning even a dime of our money, they were willing to take a risk to earn our business. Since we had already been dreaming about making the Charleston our dream home, we went in with a few ideas of how we’d like to change the plan. Without hesitation, our sales rep worked with Allan’s architect to show us a few versions of the plans incorporating our ideas. We were so impressed, and we knew immediately what the right choice was. Throughout our building process, the Allan team treated us like VIP customers. Their commitment and dedication never wavered, even after we signed the contract. They made sure that we were able to design and build our dream home at a budget that was within our comfort zone. After we finalized the plans we learned that our house was — get this — 18” too wide for our lot! We worked with Allan’s architect again to creatively redesign the space so we could make it happen and not feel squeezed in. Again, he exceeded our expectations. Every person that we met with was very knowledgeable and helped make our decisions very easy. The same kind of service extended beyond the doors of their office to their vendors as well. We loved working with Drexel, especially on the selections for our kitchen! They were very accommodating, even when we changed our minds several times. We also enjoyed working with Schmidt Custom Flooring. We were overwhelmed with making such a permanent choice, but Schmidt made the process easy, and their work was impeccable. We would recommend Allan to anyone that is considering building a new home. From start to finish, we had exceptional service and we’re so proud of our Allan home.

Allan Builders built our home a year and a half ago. I purposely waited until now to review. I am absolutely happy about the build quality and love the house. They built it on time, somehow, despite Covid. Aaron Haug figured out a way to have an entire wall of windows at a great price. I absolutely would chose them again.

Happy to post this with my name on it to explain my feelings on my experience with this organization. Quality issues, promises made by the company which were not even close to being fulfilled, changed PMs mid project, promised completion timeline from their VP of Sales was not even close to being fulfilled, quality issues that took months to get them to agree to fix them (and I have in writing from VP/President of the company) that resolving their issue could create profit erosion for them in the future if they held their sub accountable. This was our second build in the last 6 years and this was a dark experience compared to the other. I had a truly awful experience building with this company.

We did our homework before deciding to build. We visited several model homes and met with three other companies, but something stood out about Allan Builders. At first glance all of these companies (and their pricing) seemed to be similar, but after sitting down with our sales person and comparing apples to apples, it was obvious that the Allan home was a better value. We fell in love with the Charleston floorpan, but we wanted our home to reflect our personal style. We made significant design changes to the exterior, resulting in a Prairie style home that we love! Throughout the entire design process, our sales person was helpful and very knowledgeable. The whole team at Allan is very close knit and it’s easy to see why they have such a great reputation—nothing falls through the cracks. We were impressed at how easy everyone was to work with. Even their vendors treated us with respect and took time to explain their work. What impressed us most was everyone’s “can do” attitude and the flexibility that we had to ensure that our new home was exactly what we wanted it to be. We give the Allan team an A+ and would highly recommend them!

"When we set out to look for a builder for our new home we were looking to simplify and downsize from our current home. This was our second time building, and we considered Allan Builders after our friends told us about their good experience a few years prior. After comparing with a few other builders, it seemed like Allan could provide us with all of our wants and needs and still provide the quality work that we were looking for. We decided on their Annsley model. Our sales person was very thorough and knowledgeable, and we were impressed that one of the company owners, John Stoker, took time to meet us at several lots we were considering to discuss the layout and recommend the one that was best for our plan. He was very informative and honest, and he made us feel very comfortable with our decisions. Our building process was quite enjoyable. The Allan team was organized, informative, and kept us on top of decisions and progress during construction. Our job manager was always available and easily answered our questions. We felt like everyone involved went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy.”

We are currently at the framing stage in our build with Allan Builders and could not be happier. We have an amazing Job Manager/Expediter (Todd) who has done a great job of communicating every step of the way. Communication is the key in excellent home construction.
This will be our 2nd home we have built with Allan Builders and it was only natural that we decided to return, building the Charleston this time. Allan's architect took our ideas and dreams and customized our perfect home. Prior to signing any contract, Allan's team met us at numerous lots to see if it was feasible to build, costs we would have to keep in mind, etc. Again, before ANY contract was signed. When we finally found the perfect lot, there was no sign of frustration when we again asked if they would meet us on site to discuss placement and feasibility of building on our current site. I planned to write a final review when we were done and include some pictures, but I have been so overly impressed at how smooth things have been going (selections, subs, timeliness, communication) it motivated me to review them mid process.

Our daughter built a home with Allan Builders 2 years after my wife and I built a home with Demlang. I would use Demlang again and have recommended them to several other people. Allan was good through the design phase. Once the contract was signed they were a nightmare for our daughter. Late. Unresponsive. Poor quality workmanship. I would never recommend them.

Purchased a Parade of Homes model from Allan a little over a year ago. All we can say is thank you! The home is solid, and the finishes are great. They are there when you call them to answer any questions, and stand behind their product. If we ever decide to move from this great home, we'll certainly be calling Allan Builders.
