My wife and I recently bought a house and were looking to do an extensive remodel before we moved in, including all new flooring, interior paint, 3 bathrooms (including master down to studs), kitchen (down to studs), a new pantry, and refaced cabinets in laundry room and hallway. We researched 4 different contractors sourced through Home Advisors and ultimately settled on A-List. We ultimately went with them based on their professionalism, their detailed estimate, a weekly schedule, and their thoughtful POV on the changes we were considering.

Once the job kicked off, David was our project manager and we also dealt with Niv on occasion. David was exceptional in his communication and throughout the nearly 4-month project he always made himself available for any questions and concerns including going with us to pick out materials. When issues did arise (which they always do), David was quick to address them to our satisfaction. What we really appreciated was that while we had a good sense of what we wanted to do with the kitchen and the master bathroom, A-List brought in a designer that worked closely with us to visualize a full rendering of a final product that went a long way towards helping my wife and I make sure we were getting what we wanted and everyone was on the same page.

While the completion date was slightly delayed from the original communication, Ben stepped in immediately made it right which we were grateful for since we were still in the middle of COVID. There were minimal surprises during the job itself and ultimately the whole project came in on the budget they originally quoted us (outside of some minor changes we requested).

Now that we moved in and have had some time to experience our new home, my wife and I absolutely love the professional and competent work that A-List did. The full remodel turned out fabulous and we couldn't be happier with our new home.

We are demanding clients and A-List worked hard to earn our satisfaction, which they did. We would definitely work with A-List again and would recommend them to friends (which we have already done).

A-List has worked on several projects for me over the last few years. I originally hired A-List for a fairly large restoration project. The project involved wall replacement with framing and drywall, stucco, exterior and interior painting, foundation reinforcement, a new exterior gate, fence repair, brick and tile walkways. Ben was the only contractor I interviewed who recommended that an engineer inspect the foundation as part of the evaluation process. This was an insurance project and Megan cheerfully worked through the process with my insurance company. All of the on-site workers were a pleasure to work with. They arrived early, were professional, and kept the work-site clean and organized…even the city inspector commented positively about A-List’s knowledge and organization. A-List Builders did a great job and their follow-up was excellent. They have since worked on several other projects and they always did a great job.

I hired A List Builders because I could tell Ben and Rani were passionate and knowledgeable. They weren’t the cheapest bid we received but I am happy we shelled out the few extra bucks, in the end it paid off. Rani was always reachable for any issues or questions. His guys are all great, showed up on time and cleaned up at the end of the day. He was able to stay on schedule, despite the changes and additions we made to the project. Home renovation is always stressful, and the A List Team made it much less painful. We love our new kitchen, dining room and living room. Everything is beautifully done, and the attention to detail really shows. Thank you Ben, Rani, and the whole crew! I would recommend them to my friends and family for sure!

Most of the time, when folks talk about General Contractors, it's all about the horror stories; poor workmanship, incomplete jobs, fraud. We had the complete opposite experience with A-List. They were honest, clean, skilled, easy to work with, and entirely trustworthy.

If something wasn't right, they'd often catch it before we did and there was no problem with getting the wrongs remedied right away.

I am completely happy with the work they did for us. We used them to do a rebuild after our home experienced a flood in our upstairs bathroom that completely messed up the kitchen below. David, who was our main contact, had excellent ideas and suggestions in terms of design. He was friendly, easy going, and a pleasure to deal with.

We also dealt with Ben and Sean, but David was our main person. I honestly have no complaints. We had a number of contractors come out and give us bids. Out of all of them, A-List felt the most up and up, and I was reassured by the positive feedback they received from other customers.

I would hire them again, should the need ever come up. I appreciate their guidance and help. They also interfaced well with our insurance adjusters.

After about a year and a half after we remodeled our bathroom (which we are in love with), we had some minor electrical issues and reached out to A List Builders. I spoke with Sydney to see how I would go about this because technically, my warranty was up. She connected me with Rani who came out the following week to see what the problem was. He followed up consistently and in a timely manner until my needed repair work was done. His crew was not only professional but extremely nice, Amit even assisted me with a few other minor issues. Thank you to the whole team!

Our initial meeting with Rani was excellent due to him giving us information and ideas we hadn't thought of. He returned a week later with a presentation for our kitchen. Again , we were surprised at his additional ideas and his presentation. We had previous had two of the big-box stores come out so we had an idea of cost. Rani was more reasonable and offered us better and more creative ideas. Our kitchen is completed and we feel we qualify for Better Homes & Gardens. We would recommend our experience and job to everyone.

We used A-List Builder 3 times in the past 4 years.

The first project, completed in 2017, was a master bathroom renovation. We worked directly with owner/operator Ben Marciano and they did an awesome job.

The second project, completed in 2020, was a bedroom and hallway remodel. The quality of the work was good but the carpenter came to work noticeably drunk or hungover each day for two weeks. The same employee drove their truck on our front lawn paving stones and cracked half of them. We complained to the same Ben and his crew replaced the stones but with sub-standard materials leaving the paving stones unleveled and unfixed to this day.

The third project was completed in 2020 as well; it was a complete replacement of wood exterior balconies. Ben stopped his project management responsibilities and hired two other project managers to backfill. The project was done on-time but again the workers damaged exterior walls and then did not repair the damage for several weeks after the job. They also left an extremely dirty job site everyday.

During this project they offered to fully repair the front lawn paving stones but instead tried to up-sell us on more expensive stone.

All in all, we loved this company enough from our experience in 2017 to keep hire them again (and again) but now we refuse to work with them and have hired other contractors.

My advice: steer clear from this company unless you work with Ben personally.

I just bought a new condo and it needed a ton of work before I could even move in. It was important to me to find a company that could get my project started but also complete the work in a timely fashion so that I could move in ASAP. When I first met with Ben and Rani there schedule was packed and even though I really like them we weren't sure if we could get things done as quick as I wanted. Luckily they were able to make some accommodations and get the ball rolling. I had some reservations because I felt I was being squeezed in, however I took my chance and I couldn't be happier. We completed two bathrooms, my kitchen, flooring throughout the unit, complete repaint, added some lighting throughout, added a washer and dryer, and few more small projects all in about 8 weeks. The guys were all courteous and very helpful in explaining to me how things were going to be done. Ben and rani kept me informed every step of the way and they also helped me choose materials (which was not easy!). These guys are a pleasure to work with, i will definitely recommend them to friends and family and if I ever have another project, they will be my first call!
