I'm guessing you could probably find a worse concrete company if you tried but I definitely know you can find many better concrete companies with little effort. The general contractor I hired decided to have these guys do the concrete work on a house I built almost 5 years ago now (spring of 2019).

The rating is two stars because they didn't screw everything up, just my driveway. The patio work they did is acceptable because it wasn't poured in the rain like my driveway was. Most average people know it's common sense you can't pour concrete when it's raining. Apparently a company that is in the business of pouring concrete doesn't know this though. And, of course it turned out like garbage. It was wavy/uneven immediately and there were pits everywhere within a year. They don't care though, they got their profits and moved on to the next job.

I contacted Absolute Concrete in 2020 (the next year) about these concerns and they played the run around with never getting back to me and just delaying, delaying, delaying. When it was obvious I was not just going to go away, the owner initially denied the existence of rain the day they poured it. I then sent him pictures of them pouring it that day (I have proof).

They then claimed that it was likely due to road salt - they sent in a sample of my concrete for testing and all was well (some attempt at avoiding blame I guess). Regardless of what some test said, my NEW driveway looks like crap and all the other OLDER driveways in my neighborhood look just fine - kinda blows a hole in the road salt argument.

In 2021, they said they would "make it right" by the end of the year. Well, 2021 came and went and of course nothing happened. The last communication I had with them was at the end of last year (2022) when they doubled down on their concrete testing which determined that the concrete they poured was just fine. The basic "eye test" tells a much different story though. I would love for them to just walk by a few other OLDER houses in my neighborhood, then walk by my house, and tell me to my face that all is well. Obviously, their concrete work on my driveway was shoddy. Even if they offered to fix their bad work now, I wouldn't allow them to step foot on my property because these people cannot be trusted anymore.

To drive the point home regarding their dishonesty: during one conversation, the owner even told me that concrete is only designed to last five years anyway (?!), as if that was supposed to make me feel better or something. All that did was clearly expose their BS and the fact that no one should hire this place when there are honest people out there that will actually earn your money.

Pictures show the rainy day of work and the atrocious aftermath.

We recently had 600 square feet of patio poured by Absolute Concrete and could not be happier with the results. Pat was great to work with from start to finish and was enthusiastic about our patio design, concrete color and stamp choice. It was the perfect amount of guidance for a project while allowing us to be creative. The crew was professional and courteous to us. The project was finished in 1 day. There wasn't a mess made of the work area and there was even caution taken by vehicles entering and leaving to not kill the grass. I would 100% recommend Absolute Concrete to anyone looking to have a patio poured.

One word, “FANTASTIC.” From start to finish Absolute Concrete was great. Not only were they competitively priced but every single worker was kind, professional, hard working and skilled. Needless to say we were so pleased with the results. Without a doubt, we will be hiring Absolute Concrete again for future projects.

They did a great job on the driveway. I originally had a gravel driveway and wanted to update it for easier maintenance. There were grading issues with the gravel with water flowing into the garages. Pat and the owner took the time to figure out how to grade and slope the driveway in combination with french drains and a holding barrel to mitigate the water issue during rains. The driveway makes the house look so much better and the drains work great when it rains. I definitely look forward to the easier winter maintenance with it.

EDIT FOR COMPANY RESPONSE: My animals were not on the premises when the concrete was laid, and my dogs were not present for 96 hours after the concrete was laid. The animal prints were not from my animals, and the area was marked with caution tape. The concrete area was not adequately walled off when wet, allowing the animal tracks. For your company to write a review that I did not follow the 24-hour directions with my animals is ridiculous, as my animals stayed off-site for four days. Once the prints were set, you did a haphazard Quikrete fill-in. The Quikrete was not color-matched at all. This was quite upsetting since it distracted buyers from my home's beauty, and this project was a significant investment. Resale is always a thought when dealing with houses, which will cause many questions when I try to sell. In addition to the animal prints, I had to repaint my house and relandscape.

It was never communicated that the original slab would stay until after the installation started. The drastic color contrast in my garage was not explained before the pour. It was presented during and after the job. Your company did not anticipate any issues during this project and did nothing to correct them properly. During the consult, these things should be discussed. We agreed on a $1500 discount, and I appreciate that. But, contractors have come to my home to do other jobs after we discussed a discount and expressed their utter amazement at how poorly it was completed. At this point, I am vocalizing my opinion so that other people understand my experience. I had asked for people to come over to discuss my concerns, and I was blown off many times. After posting this review, your company reached out and asked how we could remedy the situation.

Overall extraordinarily disappointing and unprofessional experience, as seen in the photos. The driveway had animal tracks and was not accurately color matched. Now, the driveway is the focal point of my home and is not even one color. The garage was left carelessly. I did not feel the company respected or heard my position or concerns.

We had Absolute Concrete tear out and replace our sidewalk and a 16' x 24' area of concrete in front of our garage that was sunk about 5". We also had a stamped patio put in to replace our deck that was rotting and in need of cosmetic repair. We couldn't be happier with the end result of both areas! The patio looks amazing and the crew did a fantastic job. The Project Estimator, Pat was fantastic to work with as well from start to finish. He was extremely prompt with communication and took the time to answer our questions. We attempted to get bids from 2 other companies and the communication from the other companies was no where near compared to Absolute's prompt communication. Absolute knocked it out of the park with our projects and we will definitely be using them for future concrete projects!! If you're looking for a top notch, high quality, professional company, contact Absolute. You won't be disappointed!

Absolute poured our garage floor on our new construction on Riverview in Howard and it was flawless. They also poured our driveway with a horseshoe turnaround and front steps. All great work.
