We consulted Alan before purchasing the building lot, then worked with him to design and build a custom home the leveraged the lot's view/topology. Alan uses smaller crews that focus on quality/customer satisfaction over speed. For us, the build was open book allowing us to have the construction note and approve all draws (bill/invoices). We were not local to the area during the build, so we regularly got pictures/emails of the build as it progressed. Over the design/build, we became friends with Alan and would recommend him to anyone doing a custom build.

Alan Wolff builds a great house— solid, good quality, and durable. He has built one house for us and done a remodel/addition and he is awesome to work with— responsive, intuitive, understanding, and dependable. He doesn’t cut corners but it’s a practical build— you get to choose materials and thus control the price. I feel like building with Alan was a great positive adventure and happily a concerted effort. Highly recommended!

Alan walked us through building our custom home from design to move-in. His knowledge of materials, building requirements, and such ensured a well built, safe, and comfortable home for us. He really pays attention to the foundational work, ensuring drainage, radon, and such are all addressed effectively. His subs did an amazing job with all finishing work. Alan is incredibly detailed oriented, communicative, and educated me numerous times on better options for every stage of construction. His 40 years of experience in custom homes clearly shows. From maximizing the house location on the site, to laying out the house to capture the best views, to ensuring that the floorplan flows, and maximizing space to avoid waste of square footage, Alan sets up his build to ensure the customer can get the most out of their lot. He builds open book and we have yet to find other GCs who do this. This ensures that the price we paid for our home was reflective of our finish choices. He charges a flat fee and whatever else we decided to put in our home was up us, and helped us maximize our budget. We know a lot of times in building, you are quoted one price which allows builders to put in cheaper products and maximize their own profit. This was not the case with AD Wolff custom homes. Alan is at the site checking everything almost daily and is always present with big things are happening that need oversight even though he has had most of his crews nearly forty years. You can tell in everything he does and the way he interacts with us, that he truly cares about the product he puts out there. Can't say enough good things about this experience.
