We hired Charlie to replace our roof this past winter. It has been the worst contractor experience we have ever experienced. We have been left with inadequate quality of work, penetration of our interior tongue and groove from screws in over 75+ areas, constant water leaks, and a failure to honor their “warranty”.

After they completed work on our house and we were faced with multiple issues they refused to address, we brought in a third party roof inspection. We have pages of evidence of their work not being up to MOA code and critical flaws in their quality of work. Charlie has now decided to stop communicating with us and blame these issues on a “system failure”. When presented with issues and asked to address them he responded to us as saying our requests were absurd.

I take no joy in writing a public review like this, but save yourself the headache and money and stay clear of this company.

The photos I’m attaching show some examples of their shoddy work and of the water damaged interior that they never repaired nor compensated us for. The spots on the tongue groove indicate wood putty where a screw penetrated the interior wall from the metal roof.

I hired this roofing company for a small job—replacing about 15 shingles on my roof. The job itself cost $500, which I was okay with given the season (mid-summer in Alaska, where roofers are typically booked). The quality of the work performed was fine, and I have no complaints about the final result.

However, my issue was with the company's poor communication throughout the entire process. There were multiple instances where I was promised one thing, but it wasn’t delivered, followed by days or even weeks of silence despite my repeated attempts to reach them. For example, one day before they were supposed to show up, I was informed they no longer made the type of shingles on my roof and that they would need to use a different style. I agreed, and they assured me they would arrive the next day to complete the job, but when they showed up, they said they couldn’t do the work because they didn’t have the correct color shingles after all—despite having sent me a photo of the supposed match the day before.

They covered the area with some white material, stating they would return in a few days, but weeks passed with no communication. I was left wondering if my roof was more vulnerable than before and had to chase them down for an update. Eventually, they committed to coming out to finish the job, but even on the day they were scheduled, I never received a call or text to let me know they had arrived or completed the work as agreed. I had to use a drone to check that the job was finally done several days later.

Again, the final product was fine, but the complete lack of communication was frustrating. There was no courtesy of letting me know if they couldn’t make it or even returning my calls and texts promptly. I understand delays happen and that roofers are busy during the summer months. However, when you’re charging a premium price for a tiny job, I expect the customer service to match, and in this case, it certainly didn’t. If they had simply communicated, this would have been a much better experience.

Anchor ridge did a fantastic job. New vent covers all around , drip edge, really good quality shingles . More ice shield than code required. Three rows. Good job cleaning up after. Always on time and really good at getting back by text. And was quick with their initial estimate. 5 guys working the whole time so it took 2.75 days given a sudden snow!

HIGHLY RECCOMEND using anchor-ridge roofing. Not only did they do a great job, but I didn’t go broke in the process. I had a few estimates for my roof that were astronomical in comparison to using Anchor-ridge. Save yourself some time and trouble and get an estimate from them first. They did a phenomenal job.
