If you are looking for a quality made home sadly next gen is not it! We were blown away by the beautiful designs and layouts but do not let that fool you! They quickly rush to get these homes done to move onto the next project and it shows. We are first time home buyers and wish we had done some more research before buying. We have been in our home for a few months now and have already encountered a multitude of issues such as a flooded basement due to a water heater malfunction as it was installed improperly, a foundation crack in the basement, flooring shifting, a chip in our tub, a ripped screen door, and our sod being laid incorrectly with major gaps and dead patches showing throughout the whole yard! When we reached out about these issues we were met with poor customer service and only some were fixed. We did appreciate the builders sending over workers to help shop vac the flooded basement and replace our faulty water heater but we are left with dealing with the mess of trying to deal with insurance when this should never have happened in a new build in the first place. Secondly when we emailed Stacy on this matter she did not answer for a week so we followed up kindly asking for further help with this and she responded saying well you must have known I was out of office, which clearly we did not since she did not have an away email message. We also tried to remedy the poorly laid sod and was told this would not be happening and that it was our fault. After messaging back multiple times they said they would replace some pieces but not fix the gaps. They neglected our sod for weeks in the entire row of new homes, all of us are having this same issue because we were told at first the sprinklers they laid out would be on a timer and we found out that was not true. She comes off as passive aggressive and unprofessional. We are worried to see what else will come up in our new build house since all these issues have arrived after not even a few months.

I bought a spec house Built by Next Generation back in May 2024. I so wanted to love my new house! But it has been the worst decision I ever made.
I was promised when we walked through all the things that we’re gonna be corrected when I closed, but that was never the case . The final grade and seeding were a joke , the grass is weeds. I had water in my basement two days after and it was justified from them because we had a lot of rain that spring. The fix for that was to put another sump pump in the same crock above the lower sump pump.Moving on I had faucets that were leaking a dishwasher that didn’t work light fixtures that are crooked and water that leaked from the roof because the flashing wasn’t installed properly water leaked through a ceiling fan down on the carpet and nothing was done , not to mention the concrete patio and front walkway that I was told from an outside contractor were poured to soon so no room for settling. Next Gen did redo the patio and one concrete piece in the front but with their crew. The existing front sidewalk to the door has sank so much there’s more than a 2.5 inch trip section which is supposed to ADA compliant .
I paid additional to have the patio larger, less than a 5 months later it’s pulling away from the house and I have very large gaps from the concrete steps to my siding.
Just a heads up if you’re thinking about buying a speck house, do your research on the builders first because you’d think a 300K would be solid!

We have been working with Next Generation builders for 8+ months to build a new home in Orfordville, WI. The road to building a home is a bumpy one, but Stacy Todd has been with us all the way. She is responsive and helpful as we navigate this exciting/scary time. We are grateful that there are ethical, kind builders. Thanks to the entire crew!

If I could give zero stars, I would. But, I’ll give them one for the layout of my home. The experience I have had with Next Generation has been nothing but a nightmare. We purchased our NEWLY BUILT home in April 2020. From the beginning their have been issues. First, before we purchased the home we did a walk through with Tim. I had pointed out a chip in the master bathroom’s shower and he said it may take a while but it will get fixed. Also, a giant chunk out of our pillar and they said they would fix it. Have either of those been done NOPE. We started seeing water damage to the walls right outside of our shower and realized they did not caulk our showers. When we brought this to their attention they said it’s because we didn’t have a shower curtain…. excuse me.. like we haven’t been showering without a curtain… There is a soft spot in our floor right when you walk into the home that we mentioned to them and they did nothing to fix it. Several HUNDREDS of popped screws throughout the house that are starting to crack the walls. The walls of our one year newly built home now has cracks in it, that should not be happening. You can see seams through the paint from the drywall. Flooring was not installed properly. They didn’t hook up our AC unit when we moved in. We are now spending over $10,000 to regrade and seed our yard because Next Generation ā€œseeded and graded it twiceā€ meanwhile I have been working from home the entire time and no one has ever been here to do either. We brought everything to Next Generations attention throughout the first year AND at the one year warranty walk through and Zach said ā€œyou never took due care to the lawn or many aspects of the homeā€ Okay Zach, first I never had a yard. Second, because we really made all these screws pop out of the walls that are now cracking? Because we installed the flooring incorrectly? Because we forgot
to caulk? No, it’s because your company does not care about their customers.

I’m actually very sad to be posting this. Next Generation has been a disappointment since the day I moved into our new house. I felt like I was constantly calling to report yet another thing wrong with my *new* house. Our laundry did not have plumbing plumbed to it, our fridge didn’t fit it the ā€œstandardā€fridge sized hole, our floor has shifted around in several spots, our walls have peeled/dented with literal finger nail hitting it wrong, our faucet stopped working, the list goes on and on. I wanted so badly to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they truly have the reputation you’ve heard. Awful. Their customer service is actually ridiculous as well. Stacy is unpredictable and unprofessional. She will address issues only sometimes, and a lot of times will need reminder calls or emails. We live in an HOA and our *fees* are going towards maintenance of a retention pond that is literal garbage hole, and brand new mailboxes. The crews that come to work seem to forget that families live here and on multiple occasions have sped down the street way over 25mph. They are also incredibly messy. I’ve given them grace several times and like I said, TRIED to like them. This business is a joke and should NOT not be allowed to build homes for families. I would like to add I am not the only one who has issues in our neighborhood. There are more of us than not. I hope this review prevents anyone else from moving forward with this business.

Next Generation was the best construction experience I have ever had. The team was professional, timely and did what they said they would do. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to build their dream home! Thanks again for everything!
