We selected VKB for our whole house remodel to ensure our design was consistent and up to date. Haley and Misty definitely took our home from 1990 to 2024! Our home is more than we expected, and we are excited to entertain again.

The VKB culture is definitely focused on quality of the end product and exceeding customer expectations. Every team member, from sales and design to the construction crew, electrician, painters, were committed to the project and made many suggestions to improve our home. VKB was transparent about costs and provided options to minimize costs without compromising quality and design priorities. VKB were flexible so we could complete tasks, like painting, ourselves. All were always very positive and a pleasure to work with!

We especially appreciated the phenomenal support from Haley, Junior, Daryl, Taylor, Jeff, and Misty!

Jordan and Taylor created a plan to ensure we always had access to a working sink, toilet, and shower, as well as a working washer and dryer! This was not always an easy task and demonstrated their commitment for a positive experience during the project.

We have been impressed and appreciative of the follow up to quickly complete punch list items and to help with any post remodel design questions.

We highly recommend VKB for any remodel project!

VKB is a full service builder with quote, design, scheduling, demolition, sub contractor coordination, building, and follow-up. The people are top notch and reliable. They came up with work-arounds when unforeseen things happened and made things right. My favorite thing about VKB is the follow-up even after job completion. We were so happy to work with VKB Homes for our kitchen and flooring remodel. From the initial quote to the final walk through they were responsive and easy to work with. They even completed the project sooner than the original estimated timeline after having to start 2 days late due to a snowstorm delay. The kitchen remodel included a new kitchen island, granite, backsplash, lighting, drywall updates and 900 sq ft of flooring.

Working with Misty on the redesign was fun and she had great recommendations to ensure the new materials fit well with the cabinets we were keeping along with the rest of our home. Having the design support really made the remodel easier and gave me peace of mind that it would coordinate well.

The team of workmen were clean, professional, courteous and dedicated to ensuring we were happy with their work. Their granite, flooring & electrical sub-contractors were skilled and helpful. I recommend VKB Homes and would use them again on future projects.

My husband and I would always do any of our home improvements. We had started our upstairs and then my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness and was unable to continue the improvements. After he passed away I was in a very dark place and had no idea how I was going to get the upstairs finished. After asking friends and family I was no further along than I was before and was getting very discouraged. It was a big, messy job but it needed to be finished. I went on the website Home Adviser and did a search for what I was looking for and VKB Homes was the first company that came up. I was skeptical, I had no idea what to expect. I thought once they saw the job, it would be to much work and they would turn the job down just as the others I contacted. I made the phone call and got an appointment set up for an estimate. It was THE best phone call I ever made! They got me on the schedule. VKB Homes were right on time, polite, and very professional. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations. They were MORE than accommodating and I am beyond thrilled with the end product. I know my late husband would approve of the workmanship as well. I would recommend VKB Homes to anyone.

My wife and I hired VKB to finish our basement as well as renovate our primary bathroom and laundry room. Our house was originally built in 2009 and it had a lot of opportunity for improvement. The basement was a large, unfinished space and the primary bathroom and laundry had inefficient layouts. We are glad that we decided to improve our home with VKB because the final result greatly exceeded our expectations. Below is a summary of the different departments we worked with over the course of our renovation:

-Connor with sales (5/5). Our first point of contact with VKB was Connor. From the first phone call, he was professional and engaging. He actively listed to how my wife and I wanted to improve our home. Initially, we thought that the free estimate was going to be a quick scan of our home with a general price quote, but Connor carefully measured each space and drew up extremely detailed plans that walked through every detail in every space. Every point was based on our home improvement goals and he carefully explained the proposed plan over an hour-long meeting. Furthermore, Connor was responsive and answered all of our questions throughout the entire renovation process and helped coordinate a few additional home improvement projects that came up such as improving our stair case and fixing a rotten board in our garage.

-Design Team (5/5). We worked with Haley and Kianna to make the selections that would be implemented in our home. The choices for flooring, paint, trim, vanities, fixtures, toilets, cabinets, etc were overwhelming but they made the selection process fun and offered their professional insight for aesthetic appeal. Friends and family have visited our home and complimented the selections.

-Carpentry (5/5)- the carpentry and onsite lead teams were diligent, friendly and professional. A few family members are engineers and they were impressed by the quality of the framing work. If we had questions or concerns along the way, they were excellent contacts and resolved any issues.

-Subcontractors (5/5)- plumbing, electrical, HVAC, dry wall teams were awesome. Each team was approachable and detail oriented with their respective roles. Any minor issues noticed along the way were fixed.

-Project Management (4.5/5)- The people on the project management team (5/5) were always immediately responsive. Any issues that came up during the project were immediately addressed and corrected. The management team followed along closely with routine inspections and frequent communications. VKB is also using an app called Buildertrend (4/5) to guide the renovation. This app lists scheduled details of the renovation plan and offers a means of communication with all teams involved. It is also shows daily progress reports with pictures. My wife and I enjoyed looking at this frequently throughout the project. This seems to be a relatively new program for VKB and we observed a few miscommunications along the way that resulted in delays and rework for change orders that were made before the project began. From our experience throughout the renovation, VKB has room for improvement with how the app is utilized for communication between all teams.

Other thoughts- I work third shift. Although it was a challenge working third shift during the renovation, all teams were respectful of my schedule and did their absolute best to minimize interruptions to my unusual schedule. Also, we have a dog and the dog made a lot of new friends by the end of the project!

Over the past few months, my wife and I have experienced the massive undertaking that is a home renovation. As expected with any large renovation, there is a lot of dust and potential for minor issues and delays; however, the people we worked with at VKB from beginning to end were fantastic. We recommend VKB because the end result of the renovation is exceptional.
