Yall started a project in my apartment complex, told us it would take a week and it's now been a month with not even a bit of fresh pavement on the ground. Yall hit both my power and water line two days onto being on site. Didn't have 811 out before you dug obviously. You've taken out 1/2 the complexes parking and aren't really showing dedication to complete the project considering it's a perfect day for getting it done and there's not a single pair of boots on the ground. Maybe for future projects you do it in sections. Really lose points for damaging our power and water line within a day apart. Doesn't sound very professional to me, and I have a background in road construction and have seen 3 miles stretches of road done in less time than this. Not only that your water truck driver has no respect for the people who live here since he soaked me while I was walking down the only sidewalk I have avaliable. 1/10 Stars, would NOT recommend!

About a year ago, we had PAP come out and replace the asphalt in our driveway. We have been disappointed ever since. Our frustration comes from both the poor quality of work, and the terrible communication with PAP.

Ryan Farmer, the owner of PAP, performed our bid, and has been our primary point of contact. We have patiently tried to work with Ryan and PAP for a year to address our concerns, and have given them every opportunity to make things right, however they have shown no interest in doing so.

I am sharing our experience in the hopes that others do not make the same mistake that we did, and avoid using PAP for their residential projects.

Poor Quality:

- Despite our concerns and a forecast, the asphalt was laid on a day when it later rained, resulting in the ‘new’ finish washing away, and a worn look almost right away.

- Small chunks of asphalt broke away days after the work.

- Long vertical seems were left by the roller, which still remain avenues for freeze/thaw issues, and an eye sore.

- Most of the grading was done right, however at the bottom of the driveway, the grading channels water back to the center of the driveway (due to a high spot), resulting in pooling and ice patches in the winter.

As opposed to addressing the high spot, the ‘fix’ for this was for PAP to dig out a channel in the new asphalt to help move water. This channel just acts as another pool.

- Original layout lines were missed, even paving over a railroad tie.

- Our new concrete pad that joins the asphalt was chipped in several places as a result of wreck-less maneuvering of the roller. (No acknowledgement, apology, or remediation)

- Last winter (albeit a big winter) we had seepage coming out of the middle of our driveway. Other people familiar with asphalt work said they have never seen this before.

When asked about how thick the base prep was, Ryan would not give us an answer.

All of these concerns were communicated to PAP - but never taken seriously or addressed.

- One time PAP came out to look at things, but the folks never even got out of their truck, as the performed their assessment from a moving vehicle at the top of the driveway.

- Another time, Ryan came out to look at things - however he was on a FaceTime call during the duration of our visit, and very much distracted as I tried to explain our concerns.

Eventually, a PAP superintendent who did not perform work on our site eventually came out. He acknowledged the overall poor quality of work in several areas, saying he we would like to address things, but that Ryan was not willing to allow the work to be performed.

Terrible Communication:

PAP was happy to take our initial call and to give us a bid, however after the work was done, communication was like pulling teeth.

- Countless voicemails and emails have been unreturned by both Ryan, and other PAP voicemail and email boxes.

- In early winter, we were told that PAP would come back out to do crack sealing. It has been nearly 7 months since that initial contact. When we ask when this will be done, we are told when it is dry and when they are back in the area. (We haven’t had rain for months)

- Recently I was able to get a hold of Ryan to communicate our frustrations, only to be met with annoyance and arrogance. I was told that PAP “doesn’t even make money of off small jobs” like ours, which goes to show how they prioritize residential jobs.

- We are always told that something will happen or somebody will come by “the next time we are in the area”. This never seems to happen, and any communication attempts need to be initiated on our end.

Summary:

We have had a terrible experience after hiring PAP to do asphalt work at our home. Had we known then what we knew now, we never would have hired them to do this work - as it has been our worst experience with a contractor thus far.

If you need residential asphalt work done, I would highly recommend avoiding PAP and the ensuing headaches that you may encounter.
