Adam, the owner, was amazing to work with. I didn’t have a final plan for a complete deck rebuild, just some material ideas. He took initiative to find a design that was beautiful, cost effective and definitely solid. His work ethic is hard to find. He works hard, uses his natural talents for construction design and problem solving, and genuinely aims high in service and naturally has great people and collaboration skills.
He moved from Michigan too soon for me but just in time for you! Grab him while you can!! I learned too late and have a house crying out for talent like his. Alaska is lucky to have Red Beard.

Adam, owner/operator of Red Beard Services, is awesome! We are traveling through Alaska in our brand new 5th wheel trailer, and the roads here can be unforgiving. Something caused one end of our kitchen island to slip off its pedestal and onto the floor. After propping it up with two 15-pound dumbbells, we called the manufacturer which authorized us to hire a handyman at their expense to fix it. We’ve been through all sorts of small towns but the first place we knew we’d be spending several days was Homer. I googled “handyman Homer,” saw Red Beard Services, and that it is a Veteran-owned company. As a retiree of the Department of Veterans Affairs, I decided to try this company first. Adam answered his phone after just a couple rings, listened to my unusual story and the dates we would be in Homer the following week. He said, “no problem; I can stabilize it for you.” We set a date and time, and I sent him the photos he requested so that he’d be sure to have the proper supplies when he arrived. We touched based the day before our appointment, and he arrived early at our campsite the following day. He worked diligently and without interruption for texts, etc., and got us all fixed up in under two hours. His rate of $75/hour is very fair in my opinion, especially in light of the speed at which he works. He sent the invoice to my email via QuickBooks, so you know he’s legit. It doesn’t say it on his business card, but he is a licensed general contractor, as well. I’d definitely hire him again if I lived in this area. On top of it all, Adam is just a really nice guy and those aren’t as easy to come by as they used to be.

Needed some work done around the house (installing flooring and some tables built) decided to give "Red Beard services" a try and they were every responsive, were able to get me on the schedule with short notice and they did and incredible job. Definitely recommend best bang for your buck around.
