We’ve been here almost 3 months and are loving it. We’ve had very little issues with our home despite it being older and maintenance has been quick to respond to the issues we have had. Everyone in both the maintenance office and the housing office have been super sweet and professional. I’m really glad that we chose AFA over Carson.

The majority of the homes are older but in good condition. Waterlines throughout are quite old and have broken twice in the year we’ve lived here leaving residents without water for days. They handle emergency situations like that - busted waterline, flooding, high wind damage, etc pretty well. They keep the community informed. The area has great access to hiking and biking trails on USAFA. There’s lots of wildlife.
Maintenance has been phenomenal. We’ve needed them a few more times than we would like to have but everytime we need them they are prompt, they solve our issue and are very kind while getting the job done well.
We had a few issues with the level of organization in the housing office. They gave us the incorrect move in date and it was shifted back a month a week beofre we were set to move in. They only solved the problem (their mistake) when we escalated the issue. The solution was to live in a smaller duplex but still pay our full BAH.
Overall it’s a solid place to live. I’m giving all four of my stars to the maintenance team though.

Extremely reckless driving on the highway multiple people have been cut off and this person had to be reported to the police, this is the license plate that had been cutting others off and actually caused someone to get in an accident going northbound on I-25 a man wearing a maroon shirt with a bald head with a passenger who is a female with long hair. If you're going to act like an idiot on the road perhaps maybe not represent a company that has the number and complete company name on the side of the vehicle on 7-20-24 at 8:00 in the morning

This review is for maintenance: I had maintenance come out today to assist with my water filter. Robert and Chris were my maintenance workers and they were so knowledgeable, friendly and punctual! I have had nothing but great interactions with all of the maintenance staff I’ve met so far.

This is only regarding the maintenance order I put in and received help with. Robert was great, very friendly and kept me in the loop with what needed to be fixed. He did his best despite not having the correct part due to it being discontinued. He even left his number to call if there are any further issues.

Thanks Robert!

I'll give you the good and the bad.
The maintenance team for housing is top notch and these guys go out of there way for you and I really have an appreciation for them. But an issue that requires action from the housing office staff is where you will find excuses and a lack of action. For instance, my daughter's window was broken and that was a little above what the maintenance guys could do, it was broken when we moved in and it took them over 6 months to do it. All summer my daughter's room was so hot because the window couldn't be opened as it just fell loose if you unlocked it. The housing office said a couple times it was in the works but the contractor was busy, but the contractor said that wasn't true at all, they just got the request shortly before arriving and the only reason they would have any delays was to order the window, I think that took a week maybe 2.
I have some very dark mold under a window where I have since found the previous renters had a swamp cooler and some more on a bathroom floor and the wall on the other side of my bathroom floor shows some near the bottom. They did try to address this as you can see where most of the floor was cut out if you look from the basement but some areas would have been extremely uneconomical to remove and I get that. None of this is a huge deal except the day we moved in and I asked about some of the moldand the office staff, not the maintenance team, came back over here within minutes and basically told me I was crazy there is no mold and everything was mold tested prior to moving in and any discoloration is due to age of wood or was previously treated... right, okay.... Luckily I didn't care much as none of us have mold allergies, but the next family might need it removed.
But back to these maintenance guys.... awesome and luckily they seem well equipped to handle most situations. They have come even in the middle of the night to try to get a root ball out of our sewer pipe and they tried for a couple of hours before giving up, I was very greatful. The next morning they were here first thingand couldn't have had much sleep, with a different auger and pulled a giant root clump out all while having a smile on their faces. Another time a different guy had to clean out our main drain pipe because my baby boy flushed a ton of wipes and Legos down the roiletand it was a holiday or something and he showed up immediately and was so kind despite it being our fault. Not all heroes wear capes.
They arent perfect here but the maintenance team is good and the value for what you pay is good and that makes up for it IMO.

Robert red was quick and professional. And he still is but as we are moving out and cleaned every nook and cranny of the house the office personnel still won't get from behind the desk and close us out " it is a 2 minute drive". As so we don't have to double mortgage/rent. I am absolutely disappointed at hunt. They are not there for the service members and their families. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST.

We stayed here for 18 months and have spent about 15 years in base housing on several bases. Hunt does a great job and is a professional company. The application process was straight - forward. The move-in was on time / the house was in great shape for the age of it. The front office staff addresses your questions. The maintenance team only had to come to our house twice and they handled the job in a timely and accurate manner. The move out inspection process was clearly outlined and the final inspection was reasonable. The Hunt Team did a great job.
