I saw Dr. Mead for my knee, it kept collapsing, and I'd literally fall. He sent me for an MRI, CT scan, and X-rays and told me my knee bones were worn down and suggested my best plan would be stem cell injection not covered by insurance and it would cost 3k. No easy task. I might add. I got the money together and got the injection. The day he injected my knee, he told me it'll take a while to get moving thru my knee, but the pain would be gone, and my knee wouldn't collapse. As soon as I stood up, my knee buckled, and he had the audacity to say, "Oh, it must be in your hip or back....he had his nurse do an x-ray right there. And said yep it's not your knee."""
Seriously, I was in so much pain it was horrible. He gave me a cortisone shot a few days later. I made an appointment with a neurologist, and yes, it was my spine. I just had a 9 hr surgery on my spine to repair a disc that was popping out.
For Dr Mead to insist it was my knee and all his certainty that his stem cell would be my best option was wrong. I would never recommend this Dr only because he will rip you off as he has done to me. With no remorse whatsoever. It's wrong on so many levels.
I asked for a reimbursement only to be told no refunds, no guarantees.
Stay far away from this Dr, and he will not help you with his promise of stem cell. Trust me, he could have injected water into my knee. Who knows ....I know for a fact he's only in it for the cash.

I just got home from a 6 day hospital stay from surgery, and this is my spine. I feel Dr. Mead owes me 3k .

Amy had knee surgery in April 2021 for a torn meniscus. Dr. Mead did an excellent job and has followed her progress through rehab PT and as she rejoined a club team in Feb 2022. She had a slight tweak due to overuse and Dr. Mead was conservative in his treatment to have her back off for 30 days and re-enter play more slowly. He is not only a skilled surgeon he is a kind human being who truly cares about his patients. His office is filled with pictures of athletes who are back at it again after surgery so it’s very reassuring that she will be back to speed too. The staff is attentive, they actually answer their phone (no recording of ‘press 1 for this’ etc) and know our daughter by name. With the thousands of surgeries and patients he’s had over 30+ years it’s no wonder he’s the best. Highly recommended.

I had both of my knees replaced by Dr Meade 4 years ago.
It has changed my life for the better. I wore knee braces for years. Now, I am able to walk 3-4 miles 3-4 times a week with ZERO pain or discomfort. I recommend Dr Meade and his amazing staff every chance that I get.

Two years ago I saw a local orthopedic surgeon and was told I would need a knee replacement in the very near future. I was in quite a bit of pain but endured it. Finally I saw Dr. Meade. After he reviewed my x-ray he asked who told me I needed a knee replacement. I told him who I saw. He made an odd facial expression and said I definitely didn't need a replacement. He gave me a steroid injection and did say there was some fluid and arthritis. I was fine for six weeks. I'm seeing him today to see if there is anything that can be done to relieve my pain. I like Dr. Meade very much.

Dr.Mead replaced my right hip March 2023.I had been in terrible pain for several years and put off surgery because I was leary of the outcome. 7 month's later it was the best thing I ever did. I'm no longer in pain and have returned to work and the golf course. Dr.Mead did an amazing job. Thank you Dr.Mead.

Never met Dr. MEAD, but just asked a man in my DDS office in Port Charlotte who performed his surgery. When he was very positive about the results. A good result for me is the best way to choose a surgeon. Along with proximity and where surgery is performed

Dr. Mead did a fantastic job with my total knee replacement w stem cell therapy. 6 weeks out, I have resumed all of my activities with very little discomfort. My scar is as non-existent as it can be.
Dr. Mead's staff was professional, helpful , kind and polite.
My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner, but then I didnt know about Dr. Mead!

Dr. Mead was friendly, kind, informative, and made me feel I was special to him. He does not rush in and rush out. I have had 2 hip replacements and have had no problems. He did a fantastic surgery on both hips and all pain I was having before surgery has never come back. My first hip replacement was 2004 and second replacement 2015.
