Unprofessional would be a compliment to these guys and so would idiots. They came to my neck of the woods and started using my driveway as a turn around without asking. Then started to boss me around on my own property. Also using choice language with me for no reason. Ever since one argument with two separate guys at my driveway. I get the joy of hearing back handed remarks every day to and from my 12 hour days at work. They w won’t drop it and mind they’r own business and or keep it to themselves. They are a bunch of over paid children who need to get checked desperately.

I see that most of these reviews reflect the disgrace that this company is. They have resources to manage their people in professional manner. They should use them. They have all the jobs around Sonoma County which tells me lobby works. The road construction"men" they have working for the Ghilotti Bros. are how do I say nicely, are unprofessional goons. They never mark the roads and call you names because of their incompetence.

I work at SRJC and found myself behind a Ghilotti Brothers truck driving to work this morning. The driver did not actually stop at any of the 4-5 Stop signs riding near various schools on the way to the site they are working on at the college. The pictures included are ones of the actual truck.

Parking is super limited. Especially on Monday mornings while the one side of the road is a no parking zone for street cleaning. But they've been at it for 115 years so I guess it works for them.

I'm not normally one to leave reviews, but my experience with Gilhotti Bros merits an exception. We hired them with the understanding they would begin work in 2 months. Four months later they gave me three days notice they would be starting. First sign of trouble was the team on-site damaged my garage door frame during demo. They were kind enough to instruct me as to how I could repair it. Then came the issue of the framing of the new driveway - it was a foot narrower than spec. Foreman says to contact the project manager, and the project manager says talk to the foreman - 1 day to concrete, and they refuse to correct to spec. Then comes concrete day - we had planned to specify the finish and color, but were not asked - I tried to raise the issue while we still had time - I contact the project manager who says the foreman will do it. I talk to the foreman who says talk to the project manager. I tell him we already did that and he said to tell him what was needed. I did. He refused. Once the pour was done, I noticed they poured concrete up on to the trunk of the oak tree that broke up the driveway in the first place - not requested or spec'd, and more Jed Klampett than MCM. The remedies offered were successively more ridiculous until it was clear they had no intention of actually doing anything to correct it. I gave up. Bill arrives, I pay it knowing we would not be working with them on the remaining projects we had coming up. Literally that same week I realize the walkway had already developed a diagonal crack that water was draining into. I contact them - first guy out calls it a stress crack. Second guy out calls it shrinkage. Both vigorously agree that the contract allows their work to fail in this way without any obligation on their part. Nearly a dozen calls trying to reach the man whose name is on the trucks, and I was finally able to confirm he's not really looking after the business or its rep, and given the lack of response I've received from him, it's clear beating unhappy customers on petty technicalities matters more than producing a concrete job we could all be proud of - Including refusing to be paid to correct the defect. As it was explained to me by 'shrinkage' guy - they don't want to try to fix it since they don't think I would be happy with it.

Their cones are always covering a parking, this is unprofessional and super rude, not to mention annoying. Would give 0 stars if I could. Control your staff.

Because i work for them and they've been in business over 100 years you have to know what you're doing to make it in this kind of business not for dogs this work is for Cats.
