I ordered rock from them and had it delivered and they would only dump it in one big spot. They would not drive off and spread it evenly like most rock delivery places because the driver was "uncomfortable" doing so. It was a completely flat surface on a 2 acre parcel. Nothing unsafe or unordinary about it. They are charging me a restocking fee because of the poor customer service. They gave me a poor attitude as well. I am not impressed and understand why they were the cheapest. Cheaper is not always better.

Tell your customers to cover their loads!! Seen plenty of trucks coming out of there with no covers and rocks and sand flying everywhere hitting people's cars. Next window crack I'm pulling inside.

I have had many experiences with different types of customer service businesses, but what happened to me and my employees in this place was the most ridiculous and unpleasant experience ever. What unprofessional, poorly educated, unpleasant, and disrespectful office staff and manager.

We bought some materials for which we paid  $350 plus $150 for delivery; we canceled the delivery and got more construction materials instead. They already have our payment credit card and a generated receipt that the material was already paid for. We got a copy from them on file. The next day, we showed up to pick up the material. but we forgot to bring a copy of the receipt. They told me they would not give us the material without that copy. to which I said you already have my payment, my credit card, and this receipt on file; why don't you just give me another copy? but they said not.  Ok, I said,  we're 13 minutes away; I immediately called my husband and asked him to bring me a copy of the receipt. He arrived 15 minutes later, and my 2 employees, my husband and I, were there with a copy of the receipt, expecting to finally receive the material in our vehicle. to what they said, we would not receive the material because my husband arrived literally (2) Two minutes later. wow, we left without the materials, and I had to pay my 2 employees for a wasted day.

When I inquired if the person providing the material was the owner,  his response was shockingly disrespectful. He retorted, 'If you don't like our business, don't come back.' This disrespectful attitude further confirmed the poor service we had experienced.

After such a disappointing experience, I have no intention of returning to this business. It is clear that they are in dire need of a good dose of education and customer service advice. Selling construction materials does not excuse such irrational behavior.

Had a problem with the office manager Kendra and the delivery driver for 10 cubic yards of rock I ordered. First the office manager Kendra had a very unprofessional attitude with my wife asking questions in reference to the variable delivery charges for rock. Some estimates they charged 150.00 and others they charged 165.00 for the same load and location. Kendra couldn't articulate a logical reason for the difference in pricing so she accused my wife of being "hostile" toward her. My wife was anything but hostile. However, she was persistent in her line of questioning and refused to let Kendra speak over her like a child. Kendra you can't speak to customers like their your children!!

In addition to Kendra's attitude, the delivery driver dumped the rocks I purchased all over the street. I specifically told him NOT to dump the rock in front of the driveway and he did it anyway and just left without getting out to see what he had done. He even managed to dump some of the rocks on my neighbors sprinkler head and they were not happy.

After playing phone tag for several days I managed to speak to Roger the owner. He made excuses for his employees and said that he would help me out during my next order. Lets be very clear, there will NEVER be another order with Tri-State Materials. It is my personal policy not to spend money with a business that doesn't respect me as a consumer, period. Sure Tri-State is the biggest game in town, but not the only business that sell rocks. I spent 2K at Tri-State Materials, but I won't spend another dime. Why give them two stars? Because the field staff were professional, which is more than I can say for the office staff.

Hats off to a very helpful, and friendly employee by the name of Christian. He patiently helped us choose a color match to a gravel sample we brought in. Carefully loaded into our truck on both days we visited.
Inside the office, was a gentleman maybe a manager/owner who seemed to talk to the guys outside with less respect than employees had for customers. Great selection of products outside. We will be back, as long as customers are treated well.

Called them on the phone to see if they still carried the same rock I got from them several years back. Very helpful lady in the phone. Sent my handyman to go get 1/2 scoop of rocks. My planters needed to be refreshed. I like the 1 1/2 inch Lodi rock. Looks great. Pleasant people to work with.

Not the best customer service from the lady in the office but after I got out of the office and was looking around another employee asked me if I needed help and he helped me to find the right size of rocks that i was looking for. The schedule time for delivering the rocks was the next day I order them and around the afternoon but instead it got delivered like around 10 in the morning which I liked that a lot since that let me start my project earlier than I had planned. Overall I had a good experience and I will definitely go back.
