Great product. The online patio builder made it easy to design and all the parts and pieces were included with delivery. My only negative would be the installation instructions. I did install the patio cover by myself which came with some challenges, but I think the instructions could be improved upon. Overall a positive experience though. I would recommend Patio Kits Direct.

WOW! Fantastic customer service from ordering to final inspection. Not common today. Will be recommended to all my family and friends for sure. Inspector was on site and there was some confusion on the need for a footing from the engineering drawings. Was able to call them while the inspector was on site and they confirmed the design to the inspector and saved me what could have been a MASSIVE headache with the city!!! Inspection passed thanks to a last minute diving catch from them due to a lack of clear communication on my part with the city on the plans. Saved my bacon. 🥓 10/5 stars. Super pleased with my experience with this company.

The designer (Jaime) was easy to work with. I am a bit disappointed here’s why;
I paid 9800 for this alumawood awning. The cuts do not fit flush but okay nobody’s perfect. I opted for the light option and for those who want them note you will have to buy your own wiring to connect the lights together and run them to a box. I would’ve figured after the amount I paid there wouldn’t be anything that I would have to buy. The concrete bolts that hold the posts to the ground were very weak so you’ll want to buy some better ones. I got the insulated roof. Thats the part I’m stuck on now, because they didn’t send the longer screws (4” hex head x110). I wanted to get the job finished but not even ace could order them which I’m glad for because I’m sure that would’ve been another $200 out of pocket, so my only choice was to call the company. I was told by Rosa that I was supposed to check and measure every item delivered whithin 5 days and they might not be able to help me. She made sure to mention twice but hey how about I paid enough money for the crew sending the stuff out to make sure they have everything correct knowing somebody somewhere has to put all this together. Rosa said she would let me know when they got word on the hardware. She didn’t. After 6 days of crickets, I reached out and she told me they sent them out what is now 4 days ago via ups. I’m 1 state over (4 hrs drive) and I happen to work in the shipping industry… 4 days and nothing? The least Rosa could have done knowing I’m waiting is get some faster shipping. Again I paid quite a bit of money for this. I guess I just expected better than this. Note the caulking is like an oil base and is really good stuff. The hardware isn’t the best. No wires for the lights. These are things Patio Direct should seriously consider fixing. As well as some of the customer service practices.

Update: After installing this kit the only other thing shorted besides hardware and wiring was a single scallop. I will say - I opted for the double beams, and insulated top option (due to heat and high winds) and this thing is pretty structurally sound!

Horrible company. I ordered a patio cover from them and almost the entire order came damaged. Deep scratches down to the metal, and dents. Their response? Just use some touch-up paint. Why would I spend $4K for a kit that is supposed to be factory painted and maintenance free just to apply touch-up paint because they cant deliver a quality product. After hours of taking pictures and sending emails I finally got them to replace the entire kit. Great! Not! The replacement pieces were also damaged and they are refusing to replace them. Their response? Just use touch-up paint. Save yourself some time and go with another company who is competent.
Update 8/7/2023 - I finally got them to agree to replace the damaged replacement items. We verbally agreed they were going to send new parts. When the parts showed up I found they had just spray painted the old ones and just shipped back. Super dishonest company.

I haven't put together the kit but so far the experience with this company has been amazing. From picking the design on the website to the delivery. Everything is nicely labeled and organized together. Rosa Ramirez has answered all my dumb questions and helped me find all the parts in the inventory. Thank you so much, can't wait to start building this weekend.

We built our new non-insulated patio cover with lights/fan beams from Patio Kits Direct over the last 3 weekends.

5 stars for the quality of the materials, for the sales team and assistance with design!
5 stars for Shawn and his help during the build (answering questions, etc).
5 stars for the value to price ratio!

3 stars for Rosa in the office. Very abrupt. “I work from home so I can’t do that right now”. Not able to answer questions.

2 stars for the DIY instructions. The pictures were outdated and in error. Steps were missing or not pictured. *PLEASE PLEASE FIX FOR UPCOMING CUSTOMERS.

3 stars for videos. Some are helpful, some a very outdated and no videos on important steps (like wiring).

Pros:
- material
- paint on material
- quick delivery
- Design help/experience
- overall look and durability of the structure! We have gotten so many compliments
- easy project for average DIY person with the tools required (make sure you have the right tools!!)
- fun to assemble (I didn’t think I would say that, but it was like building with Legos!)

Cons:
- we had several issues with wrong parts delivered and lack of a certain screw (but tons of other screws). I would HIGHLY recommend looking through everything with the parts sheet AND the instructions right after it is delivered. According to Rosa, the claim takes 7-10 days just to process and then additional time to ship to you.
- phone help is only available on weekdays and up until 2pm on Saturday. We built ours on the weekends and ran into issues Saturday evening/Sunday, which caused us to have to wait until Monday for help.
- Need extra screws!!! I went to Home Depot twice for screws that 1) weren’t included, but were on the instructions sheet 2) ran out of one kind of screw even though I followed the instructions to the letter.
- the instructions NEED to be clearer and up-to-date. Including videos would be VERY helpful.

Our home is west facing in Southern California and the sun made it hard to enjoy our backyard until we reached out to Patio Kits Direct and installed our patio cover. Now we get to comfortably enjoy the outdoors all the time! The team is professional, experienced, and sharp. Material delivery was smooth and well communicated and executed. Install was straightforward and we are so satisfied with the result. Can’t recommend Patio Kits Direct more!

So everyone I spoke with were all very helpful and knowledgeable. From the first call inquiring about the company with Andrew, to working with Katie on the build for the quote, to communicating with the Shawn about the design and finally working through some minor details about picking up the items at the warehouse with Mandy, EVERYONE mentioned above did outstanding jobs and all went above and beyond to help us stay informed and kept me inline with the process. I’m not one to talk bad about people but there’s many other reviews that mention Rosa so I’ll just stop there.
