Dr. Tway is one of the best most experienced cardiologist in SLO - proven by the fact that he is very popular with my friends. He takes time to evaluate you and gives different recommendations including natural paths to healing my heart. His staff are patient and very helpful with my medical records.

This was my first visit to Dr. Tway's office is very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and compassionate. One is asked to wait outside and they will come let you in, take your temperature and then all the regular stuff, fill out forms, make next appointment etc... On a High Note they have reduced the amount of paper they use. All of your info you enter on a Tablet, which they wipe clean with approved alcohol wipes. Unlike any other Doctors Office I have been to, I was checked in and sat down and only waited about 10 minutes to have my vitals taken and only 5 minutes more to see Doctor Tway. He is a very nice man reminded me of a Who is that good dad I loving husband and a great grandpa to his kids he was very friendly and cordial and I had a great time with him in his office while he explain to me what is going on with my heart condition.

Staff has been great and little wait time. When i wanted a thorough 2nd opinon for my spouse, I came right to Dr Tway. IDK what these ppl with bad reviews are talking about. Maybe they have issues. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I hate to say anything negative. The doctor saved my mom’s life in 1979. The good reviews must have been written years ago. Dr Tway was once a great doctor but now it would benefit him to retire.

Why even waste your time.

They make your appointment earlier than any other place. Except they never hive you results. I have made 8 calls 3 emails since 3/25. It is now 5/20. Still no results. My doctor said I would probably want to get a another reliable cardiogram. I should not trust their results.

Dr Tway and all the staff are nice and helpful when you are in the office...but trying to get the administrative part of the practice to work I have found to be frustrating and impossible. I was applying for life insurance which required some documentation from Dr. Tway's office. The insurance company contacted them many times and I did as well. After several months, they info was never provided with no explanation as to why. When I call, I am told they will "try" to get it done, but nothing ever happens. My life insurance application which took an in home exam and many other steps, was discontinued because they can't get the needed information sent from Dr. Tway's office. Now I have to start the whole process over...but it won't do any good since I have no reason to think that the outcome would be different. I will be changing providers. This office is too much of a mess to deal with.

All the staff are great at Dr. Tway’s practice. Christina went above and beyond in answering and explaining all of my dad’s worries and question! My dad only speaks Spanish and the staff made sure he went home feeling satisfied throughout his entire visit.

Rude and unprofessional with no care for patients or staff.

I saw Dr Tway for a new patient appointment over 6 months ago. They did not check my insurance before the appointment or inform me that I was out of network. If this was the only issue, this would be understandable. I received a bill of over $400 for a 10 minute appointment. I asked for a cash discount since it would not go through my insurance and they said they could not help me. This is still understandable.

Here comes the kicker… he suggested two tests: a heart monitor and an ultrasound of my heart structure, because my heart rate (which I monitored myself) indicated issues. Since they were out of network I obviously needed to see another doctor. I was able to find one that came suggested in-network, so I called Dr. Tway’s office for a referral. The new doctor said they would be able to perform the two tests if it was noted in the referral. Bummer I had to pay over $400 and learned nothing but the problem seemed solved.

It has now been six months. I have called the office 4 times with no response, walked in to ask about the referral and was promised it would happen that day, a month later I am back and was told I need to wait until the doctor is out of his appointment so I can talk to him directly.

When he came out he asked me if I understood what a deductible is, why he would have to be the one to give a referral, telling me I’d have the same problem elsewhere, and then continued to demean me in front of other patients and staff. He then literally shooed me out of his office while walking away saying “I’ll send him (the new doctor) a note” while ignoring my request for a paper copy. It was hard not to cry at that moment. Luckily a nurse saw my shock and went to talk to him. He reluctantly gave me an order for the tests, not even a referral.

Dr. Tway clearly does not care about the well-being or financials of his patients. They’ve called many times to try to collect money but not once to help me continue treatment. This is my heart we’re talking about. He should lose his license for how he handled this. I wish I never stepped foot in this office. Avoid this doctor at all costs.
