Carlos and his crew - Felipe, Hector, and everyone else, did an amazing job remodeling both of our bathrooms. They were all very professional, quick to respond to and address any questions I had, and very thorough in their work. No detail was overlooked and they were more than willing to accommodate my many small extra asks. This is actually the second time I have used Built Right, since the first time I used them they finally fixed an issue that a few other contractors failed to fix (leaky window/entire stucco wall). I will definitely use them again next time I need more work done - can't beat the price, quality of work, professionalism, and they are just straight up cool fun people to work with!

There are not enough words for how much I've valued Carlos and his team with the extensive quality work they did on my home. It started with water and mold remediation, then onto demolition and renovations. What started as front room damages turned into a whole house project. Carlos supported me every step of the way by communicating frequently with myself as well as the insurance adjuster. He went above and beyond by being present when the adjuster came for home visits. He even was present for an all day hearing on my insurance claim!! He was professional, knowledgeable, hard-working, fair priced, sincere and of high integrity, and really cared about the work being done! My home looks beautiful, thanks to Carlos and his team! I now consider Carlos to be a good friend. I would highly recommend Built Right Construction without hesitation!

Built Right Construction was a third-party contractor found by my insurance. This company has high professionalism and great communication. We had water damage in which resulted in opening the concrete floor in the garage. We were not satisfied with the first work. However, after speaking to them, they listened and came back to satisfy our requests which I do appreciate very much. Special shoutout to Carlos, the owner and Lisa. We hired another contractor to do our kitchen remodel, and they subcontracted Carlos' company (so Built Right did all the actual work). The direct contractor turned out to be absolutely awful (they were not paying Carlos and they kept us in the dark for a lot of problems). This easily could have blown up and destroyed the entire project. But Carlos has integrity, vision, and dedication. He worked with me to get the project finished, and I really appreciate his honesty and work ethic. When we were unhappy with something, he fixed it. He listened to what we wanted, and was happy to adjust if we asked for something different.
We also did full permits through the City of Oakland (complete headache) and they passed all inspections. This was a pretty complex, large job as we were moving all of the appliances so they had to change the plumbing, electrical, and gas completely (sink, fridge, oven, etc).
The entire project would have been 110% better if we had just directly contracted with Carlos. Every single person in his team was very respectful and hard working. They did an awesome job.

We did not ultimately choose to go with Built Right Construction for our project, but I want to express how much we appreciated their professionalism throughout the process. Carlos was excellent at communicating via email, prompt during the inspection, and provided us with a very detailed estimate of the work needed. He even followed up with us regularly to ensure we had all the information we needed. While we didn’t end up using their services, based on the level of professionalism they displayed, I cannot recommend their company enough.

Short: Great team, great crew. Thorough, thoughtful, responsive, reasonable, and skilled. They did a great job on our bathroom repair and remodel, despite short notice and having to squeeze us into an already busy schedule. I know how hard it is to find a contractor you're legitimately HAPPY with. This is that contractor.

Long: Our shower pipes (behind the wall) in our condo apparently had been leaking for some time, and the downstairs neighbors' ceilings were getting destroyed. We needed to get the work done fast but right; we'd just bought a house, and were tying to put the condo on the market.

I asked my colleagues for a contractor referral, and they RAVED about Carlos and Chuck at Built Right, whom they had used for a major house remodeling. They'd heard about Built Right from their friends, who'd also used them for a major home remodel.

Despite the short notice, given the circumstances, Carlos scheduled us in and got a team in to gut our bathroom, find the leak, and replace the corroded pipes. From there, they put in a new shower/tub, floor tiles, and shower tiles, and repainted the vanity and bathroom walls. Our once dated bathroom now looks great!

This was our first time embarking on a project like this; Carlos and team were hands on and guided us through the process. They met us at Lowe's and helped us pick out the floor and wall tiles and grouts. If you know what you're doing, you can pick up all of the materials yourself. But if you need a hand, Built Right goes the extra mile to make sure the project is working for you, and isn't bottlenecked by a bunch of errands you might not have time to run and aren't confident about doing right.

They also worked around our needs and budget. In this case, we weren't looking to make the fanciest dream bathroom, so they helped us pick materials and a style that looked nice and would last without breaking the bank. No upselling for unnecessary frills.

Work was done quickly and carefully. It took 2 weeks, but only because the July 4 holiday fell right in the middle.

I strongly recommend Built Right. Our new house has a variety of small and large work that needs to get done; we're happy to have Built Right on our side for that work too!

After experiencing a water leak that damaged our master bathroom, laundry, powder and family rooms, we contacted Carlos at Built Right. Carlos and Hector are knowledgeable and very professional. They worked with the insurance adjuster to insure we received what we were entitled to in our policy. Carlos and his dedicated and talented crew worked diligently until the project was complete. Fantastic experience – HIGHLY recommend!
Built Right Construction & Restoration did a remodel of my kitchen and a bathroom that had been severely damaged from a water pipe break. In hindsight, I should have called them before I called my insurance company.
My insurance company sent over a (fly by night) water restoration company that waited and took pictures for almost a month before they even started. Had I known that as an insured I was eligible to call anyone I like for the water mitigation. But I did hire Built Right to do the remodel unaware that I could have called them for the water mitigation.
Carlos at Built Right went out of his way to call the insurance company to explain that slow progress from the insurance company’s mitigation people and also explained to the insurance company that (due to the slow progress the mold was creeping in and almost like an attorney Carlos reiterated my California rights to the insurance company and that was it was obligated to pay for the repairs.
Carlos and the people at Built Right Construction & Restoration got the insurance company to pay for almost all the cost of a complete kitchen remodel and a complete bathroom remodel. And since I had existing renter in the house, Carlos quickly took charge and had both rooms done in about a month.
Ill having the second bathroom at the house done by Built Right Construction & Restoration next years. Cant say enough good things about Built Right.
