He provided professional, detailed plans and helpful analysis after carefully assessing our structure to proceed with installing of our complicated bi-fold sliding door. The plans were submitted to the city with no problems. I met Jackson 5 years ago through a contractor doing my first remodel. Eventually I fired my contractor but kept Jackson’s plans. For my 2nd project, Jackson and I worked together on designing our forever home. He was very collaborative and enjoyable to work with. Due to our unfamiliarity with city’s guidelines, the plans could not get permitted. Eventually, Jackson found an innovative solution that keep the design, save time and money. Jackson is easy to communicate with over the phone. And he will take as much time to talk to you about every item of concern and if he disagrees, he will tell you. While other architects focus on design, he is not afraid to change his design if it can save you time or money. While he is not a big firm, his fees are reasonable. I have recommended him to my neighbors and will definitely use him as an architect again.

Jackson Durand is highly professional, thorough, knowledgeable and innovative in this architectural design. He is able to offer you a timely design that is not only beautiful but also maximizes my space and dollars. I built only a small 300 ADU on my 3rd deck, and I love the 4 stacked stairs to balcony and also how the design matched the exisitng house as it appeared to be a part of the existing house. Prior to Jackson, I had another engineer draw up some designs and none of them was satisfactory. Jackson listened intently and knew what I wanted or in many cases knew I was struggling with how to maximize the space and what I can do due to the lack of space and Jackson created a sensible design with best view and flow by his first attempt! Mostly importantly, Jackson has is own family and understands that our homes are where memories are made, families flourish and is our sanctuary from stress. With this mindset, he makes every design with passion and is dedicated to ensure it is the best most economical vision as if he was building his own house/space.
