It took me a while to write this because I spend all my time cooking in and staring at my beautiful new kitchen! MC did our kitchen and master bath renovation a couple months ago and turned our very dated and dingy rooms into spaces we love. Our point of contact was Mike and he was great at communicating the game plan, we knew exactly what to expect each day - who was showing up, when and what for - and he was easy to reach when we had questions. The crews who did the work were awesome, always on time, friendly, and neat - and dang they work hard. They cleaned up really well at the end of each day - which was huge since we lived in the house through the renovation. We had put off doing a renovation because we have dogs and I work from home, but we shouldn't have - it was easy to move around the house to find a quiet space when needed and to get our dogs in and out of their safe space. Overall, we're thrilled with the results and look forward to using MC again for our next project.

MC Construction & Design did a great job from beginning to end. We had them come and remodel our restroom. They did so well we called them up to build an ADU!

They walked us through the whole process — from blueprinting to getting power from DWP — holding our hand the entire way, doing most of the heavy lifting. There were some things we had to do on our own, but they offered assistance when possible. They were very transparent and flexible, letting us know what could be done/not with respect to our budget and LA County’s ridiculous laws.

The entire project (800 sq. ft. 2b/1ba) took about 6 months from an idea to a completed home. It’s been 6 months since then and everything is still in working order and they provide their own warranty! We were able to pick out colors, cabinetry, and bathroom faucets so we really got what we wanted — Mike was great in communicating and helping!

Took me a while to review, but we completed a remodel of 2 new bathrooms and new flooring throughout the house about a year ago, as well as some other random improvements.

I picked MC Construction & Design even though they were the most expensive of 3 bids, because not only were they very responsive, but it seemed like they knew what they were doing AND they said they could get it done the fastest. Their hard working guys even worked a lot of Saturdays. They did a good job and finished the project (which was a large project) only about 1-2 weeks late. They did a good job, and I would hire them again.

The reasons I did not give 5 stars:

1) Another big reason I picked them was the "Design" in their name. My impression was that this meant they would come up with design ideas to show us (i.e. several renderings of some design ideas that were customized to my bathrooms), which is not the case. All the "Design" means is that YOU have to pick out every bit of material and design it yourself, and then they will send you a 3D rendering of your project before they break ground.

2) There were a lot of little overpromises & white lies told by the company & sales person - which is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but just doesn't sit right with me. For example, they say on here that they do not subcontract, which is not true. There were several subcontractors working on various parts of the project, including hot mop, new fencing, etc. Another thing I was told by my sales person (as I made the last payment) was that if I noticed anything wrong, they would be out the next day to fix it. This was not true. It took several weeks of nagging for them to come out and fix a new door that they had installed.
