A peaceful get away in cold AC accommodations. If you connect two of the sleeping units, you can have a much more enjoyable sleeping and lounging experience. The evenings are great for a relaxing stroll to the latrines that haven’t been updated since the Gulf War for a shower. If you have a open mind, you’ll enjoy your time. If not, you’ll be miserable. Bring charging system as you might not be by an outlet. Three points of contact, lock n load! ✌?

All I can say is WOW. I've never felt an experience like RUBA has given me in my life. Room arrangements are shared with your entire vacation group to foster a close bond like no other. The AC runs. Amazing varieties of food that range from burritos, pizza that is lovingly prepared for over an hour, or different burritos! The wildlife is super friendly as well, including little doggies that beg for food or giant hell-birds that pick through the trash for pieces of burrito. How cute!

Welcome to RUBA, where the space exists to do tons of maintenance and where overpriced vendors sell you food/drinks! The living quarters are on COTS and the A/C may or may not work depending which building you stay in. At least, one of the men's bathrooms have a divider separating you from other people. Let's not forget the pizza place, the burrito trucks, ice cream truck, burger joint, the post exchange, U.S. Patriot that exists! After being in the box for a month and losing weight, enjoy gaining it all back and then some! With that being said, have fun when going home!

I went 10 times total! I even got to contribute to the beautiful artwork within the medical aid station. Both as support and to go into the luxurious rustic camping experience. All of the comments about the accommodations and amenities are true! This really is the most wonderful vacation spot to spend time with all your best friends! PS. I've seen the majestic desert tortoise a total of 5 times and consider myself deeply blessed. Stay safe, brace for rollovers, and remember! The dust blowing in from the campgrounds is full of the poop particles of everyone before you-- take a deep breath and inhale history!

Those lucky enough to stay in the world famous RUBA can count themselves fortunate. This campsite boasts amazing views of the mountains. Dirty and smelly restrooms with no privacy? Thank the wind. The toilet curtains are sometimes taped to the sides. For an authentic experience try going all natural with no curtains. You might just make eye contact with your neighbors as they walk past to find the next available toilet.

If your hungry, try the local food so good you swear the secret ingredient is laxatives.

Summary:
Amazing time here. Highly recommend!!!

Traveled here for a training seminar and stayed with some coworkers at the world infamous RUBU. With the promise of an authentic desert experience, and all expenses paid, who could say no? However, the first night here our room had pools of standing water and room service didn’t even show up. That only set the tone for our stay at this oasis nestled in the Calico Mountains. The next morning we found out they put us in the wrong room, so we all had to carry our own luggage and move next door! The meals left something to be desired; taste! When the food did arrive it was cold. For a place that thrives on repeat customers you would think they would clean the bathrooms more frequently and bring more palatable food, but that level of service was just not to be seen. Despite the view of the mountains of the Mojave and the charm of the tan-mud stucco exterior of the resort, there were just too many inconveniences. If I could give it negative stars I would. Will NOT be staying here again.

Great, all inclusive resort to stay in California! I loved the desert so much that i volunteered for two days to walk around and clean it up. The bathrooms were clean and i really loved pooping inches from my fellow guests. The vehicle rental staff were fast a friendly! They really made me feel at home. I would, and did stay there again.
